Honey cornflakes is a must "kuih raya" snack once a year in Malaysia. It is very easy, simple to make and quick to prepare.
Years ago, when I didn't know about the right ingredients for a healthy cooking, I used ordinary cornflakes and used artificial honey syrup in the market to make honey cornflakes.

Honey Cornflakes Snack For Kids
I used natural honey and change it to gluten free cornflakes in this recipe.
A better and healthier choice recipe.
But you can't eat too much because it contains natural sugar from the honey itself, as well as cornflakes.
So, who has insulin resistance, this recipe is not suitable for you.
This recipe is a healthier option for children.
Instead of giving snacks that are rich in white sugar, artificial sugar which are unhealthy, it is better for us to make gluten free snacks that we can control the sweetness and of course know that it is gluten free snacks.
So, let's try at home. I'm pretty sure your kids would love this snacks.
It's cruncy and sweet!
Ingredients:
- 200g gluten free cornflakes
- 100g pure unsalted butter (i chose grass fed unsalted butter)
- 4 tbsp pure honey ( here in Malaysia i used tualang honey)
- 1/2 Tsp vanilla powder
- 80g organic cane sugar or coconut sugar (quantity can reduce if you want less sweet)
- Pinch of himsalt (himalayan pink salt)
- Gluten Free Sprinkles as needed
How To:
- Put butter, honey, vanilla, sugar and salt in a pan. Cook on low heat. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Turn off the heat
- When it's a little warm, add the cornflakes gradually. Stir well
- Then put it in a small paper cup. Sprinkle on top as decoration
- Preheat oven 150°c, bake using top and bottom heat for 8 minutes. If you don't want the bottom of the cup to stick, use top heat only. Bake time depends on your oven type
- After baking, remove the honey cornflakes from the oven and let them cool on a cooling rack. Then store in an airtight container
